Private scan

 

18 weeks sex and 3D scan.

On 22nd of June 2019 we booked a private scan, it was booked for 16 weeks however Ben was in hospital just after having the stitch put in. Therefore we postponed it, for 18 weeks and 3 days. Ben's aunt paid for it and was suppose to come originally however was then busy. So instead we invited my dad and step mum, which was so lovely to have them there. 

Our appointment was at half 4, then got moved to 3:15 due to booking wrong but it meant we did not have to wait as long. My dad drove to pick us up and took us there. First the sonographier had a look at our baby, to do some checks. After she showed us our baby in depth. Showing us the brain, lungs, stomach and kidneys which were all developing as they should be, the baby was swallowing fluids and had a full bladder. We could see their brain and all the connections forming. Their heart beat was 161, which was perfect. 

The sonographier then had a look at what our babies sex was, our rainbow is a wiggler, so was moving all around, making it hard to get a close look. While we waited for baby to settle more she showed us the baby in 3D. This was so sweet to see our baby's face in more detail, the baby had their hand by their face and was hiding right against the placenta, but it was so sweet. My dad was so excited I do not think he had really seen a proper scan before, as when me and my brother were babies they did not have such advance technology and he was busy working multiple jobs. 

The lady then went back and was able to confirm what biological sex our baby was, we have told a few people but will be keeping it off social media and this blog until the baby is here safe and healthy. 

However we have now been able to start choosing our babies name, as well as to plan for them.
