We are finally 12 week!
So we have been lucky enough that we have had a few scans already, however we could not wait to see our rainbow again and see how big they have grown in just two weeks. Also to get an official due date. We had an idea because we had 3 days of donations so knew roughly when we conceived. However with previous scans we kept getting different dates and put back then forward a week.
The sonographer was the same lady we had who did our 12 week scan with Nico, which was nice because she knew us and could see on our notes that we lost him, meaning she was more sensitive and did not ask to many questions. She also let us have a bit more time to see our baby and listen to his heart beat. She made sure she got really good photos for us and even printed us a photo with their heart beat wave on it. She measured and put us at 12 weeks and 1 day. our next booked scan is at 21 weeks in July.
Our baby was asleep when the lady started and we could see them sucking their thumb. then they got woken up where she was moving the probe to get their measurements, then they were kicking and spinning around. although not as much as Nico was at 12 weeks. as the lady was able to easily get all the measurements. we had low risks of downs syndrome, or any thing like preeclampsia.
We then had our appointment with Mel and Austin afterwards, which was fine as we had nothing to report really things were doing well and now it was just ensuring that Ben's cervix was measured every 2 weeks from 14 weeks, we met the lady who will be doing his cervix scans and got an appointment booked in for the 23rd of may.
The Monday before our scan we got a Doppler and with the help of Ben's cousin. we heard the babies heartbeat for the first time, it was so special. their fast strong little heart beat. Recording of our rainbow heartbeat. (written at 12 weeks 09/05/2019)
